Welcome

Individualised, holistic, one-to-one care is not too much to ask, before or after your baby is born. Taking control of your journey to parenthood and engaging support that truly meets your needs is a worthwhile choice, and a doula can provide that support for you, during pregnancy, birth and following the arrival of your baby.

In a non-medical role, a doula is uniquely positioned to focus on your wellbeing and your experience, and our priority is to ensure that parents feel safe, respected and comfortable. Easing the transition to life with a newborn, you can depend on us to listen when you need to be heard, act when you need practical help, and guide when you are looking for advice.

A little about us…

Hi! We are Georgie and Vikki, birth and postnatal doulas based in Cheltenham, with a dream of helping families to feel supported, confident and positive, about pregnancy, birth and parenthood.

Because it is absolutely possible to feel this way when you are expecting a new baby, and it gives babies a great start in life by having content, well looked after parents.

We work together as a team, to bring families the most well-rounded, supportive experience that they could hope for. We share the same values when it comes to how we feel people should be treated, embrace a mutual understanding of the needs of expectant and new parents, and bring the same philosophy of care to the families we work with, based on years of trust and looking after each other in this exact way.

We offer a unique approach to doula care that provides increased flexibility to parents, and greater assurance that no matter what surprises life may bring, one of us will always be available to listen, and a familiar face will always be present to reassure you when you need it most.

PREGNANCY & BIRTH

More people are working with a doula to give them the continuous support during labour that they want. A trusted, familiar face when you need it most, we are there for you throughout your pregnancy and birth. We are trained to provide emotional support, physical comfort and continuity of care during your labour. A doula is an extra person on your team, who does not replace your medical caregivers but brings a different kind of care, by preparing for birth together and focussing on your unique needs.

HYPNOBIRTHING

Like sports psychology for birth; hypnobirthing combines relaxation  and visualisation techniques, is rooted in biology and is full of practical advice for labour.  Build confidence in your body’s ability to birth your baby and feel informed about your choices. If you would like to approach birth with positivity and calmness, and feel their benefits during labour, hypnobirthing is a great way of preparing during pregnancy.

POSTNATAL SUPPORT

As you adapt to life at home with your newborn baby, and your time and energy is devoted to looking after them, we are here to look after you. The recovery phase of the postpartum period is often forgotten, and we offer visits to your home following the birth of your baby to help out during those early days. Hands-on practical support, delivered with compassion and care, tailored to suit you. Tell us what’s important to you and we will listen.

“Vikki gave me amazing support during the birth of my daughter. She was so calm, reassuring and kind, and helped me believe that I had the strength to get through my labour. She was my advocate and support in the room, and her non-judgemental empathy in the weeks afterwards allowed me to process my experiences. I feel so grateful to have had her by my side.”
